DL: WELCOME ! I signed up here in December but this is my first time to leave any kind of a comment. The last several weeks I have been reading a lot on this site, even back to blog #1 by administrator. There are a lot of people who care here, a lot of support here, a lot of help here. and a whole bunch of thinking and talking. That's a good thing. - - -
Like what Dan28Jam said in paragraph 5 of his "about me" section - - "When you're ready, we'll be here waiting" - - - Well, I am finally ready to offer and receive support and help. DL, you said any thoughts are welcome. I agree, any and all thoughts.
My 25 year old fraternal twins each have a different "late-onset" mental illness, one with schizophrenia and one with bipolar. The last 8 years have been quite challenging, but we've had help from Medicaid and SSI. Also, my dad had alzeimers the last several years of his life. What does your dad and daughter have?
The outlet my twins have had for many, many years are all kinds of movies and documentaries. We met Joey in Illinois in April of 2008, NYC last Oct. and Minn. in Dec. Thank you Joey. One of my sons has a profile here. It really helps. So, DL, I am finally ready to share my story! I hope you are too. - - AMC - - (Mike) P.S. My son's grandparents are from Illinois, Iowa, and Kansas. Also, I reccomend just skipping around this website reading various profiles and blogs.
