its kind of frustrating when youre denied the ability to live up to your potential due to a mental illness that nobody in authority wants to or even tries to understand...you spend all youre nergy fighting to get better and your denied access to certain basic rights like an education...or a decent job...the one thing i know is that the best people on this planet are the ones who have suffered and survived................

My son is going through that right now. He has been suffering from ADD for most of his life. He's also wanted to go into the navy. He's been a Sea Cadet for about five years, to get ready for it... and now finds out that the military has no interest in anyone with ADD. What's he gonna do, go nuts and kill the enemy? So he and his p-doc have been working to get him off the meds, to teach him how to control himself, so he can join the navy.

I totally agree with your comment, Tom, that the best people are the ones who suffered and survived. Now if only we can get the rest of the world to understand that.
