Lithium - Jail
Posted On 08/02/2009 10:43:39

My doctor prescribed Lithium for my bipolar disorder.  I really did not like the side effects.  So, being the genius that I am, I decided to reduce the dosage on my own.  The results were not good.  I became angry, got into a scuffle and spent a night in jail. The good thing was that my mug shot looked way better than Glen Campbell’s  or Mel Gibson’s.

In spite of numerous requests, I was not given my medication in jail. Nevertheless the people in jail were normal in spite of the stereotype images.  I was astounded at the length of time these kids were doing for such simple misdemeanors.  I never realized that a person could be sent to jail for a violation of a restraining order that consisted of an innocent email.  Or allegations, lies and simple vindictiveness.  Maybe it’s just in New Hampshire.  But it made me think of the socialism in the former Soviet Union or Hitler’s Germany.  The law has blinders, it’s black and white, if you’re a Jew you go to a death camp.  Such is the law I discovered in New Hampshire by  disregarding my doctors orders and ignoring the prescribed dosage for Lithium.   I missed a dosage of Prozac yesterday so that explains this extemporary diatribe.
