Life in bipolar goggles
November, 2008
by Rhiannon Hennessey
Every mistake that I have made
I tried to cover up
Lord knows I tried
But what do you do when trying isn't enough
When you're too lost to know that you can't be found
When the sands of time turn to water
Thick enough to drown in
So you drown
And when you sink
It feels like bricks are strapped to your feet
Like the only thing that can save you
Is will power
But what happens when your will power evaporates
And you're left with a sunken hope
In an ocean of fear
Do you give up?
Or struggle until you can't struggle
What do you do when happiness is a matter of what your body decides?
And your emotions are put on shuffle
You wish you could change
You would give up everything just to start over
But deep inside you know
That if you were to start over, you would make the same mistakes
And not even know it
So you'd live clueless
But perhaps that's better than acknowledging your pain
Is living numb
Better than living with fear and agony Every step of the way?
It doesn't matter
Because you have no choice
You have live in pain and sudden happiness
Or don't live at all
So live with bipolar
Or don't live at all because
A life in bipolar goggles
Is better than a life without sight.
