Evelyn, I'd like to share the back story on this nest - It was made at the elbow of a down spout, just outside my window, in the spring by a robin. A bowl nest. She nested there and raise 3 fledglings. Robins sing like mad in the evening hours so it was easy to pay attention. After this first brood, she flew away. Soon after I was awakend by busy morning chitter chatter. A couple of house sparrows had moved in and added the walls and roof. They raised several batches of babies through the spring and kept adding and adding until a couple days after I took this picture the whole thing collapsed. They still return to the elbow of the down spout, perch there and chatter away.
