That is a good way of thinking about siblings - how we stack up.  Went to a twins game yesterday - twins won in the 9th inning.  It was such a beautiful day outside of Minneapolis no  room for depression there.  The only problem was tornado sightings.  Five of us huddled in a small bathroom while the storm passed buy I thought for sure the   roof was going to fly away.  That's how scared I was.  It wasn't my time, I guess.  Hope you are doing well today.

family is like being the final garnish to top a gourmet desert.  For example, there is ice cream in the dish,
covered with syrup, then whipped cream, some sprinkles.  But the sweetest and most beautiful delicacy is
the cheery on the top.  That’s you.   Dave.

Summer,  Thanks for your comment and encouragement. Much appreciated. Dave.

This looks like it got sent twice but anyway its always good to get a comment.  I felt depressed yesterday and today but things got better as the day wore on.  I still feel excluded from the group that are my sisters but being the last one in the family might be the reason.  They are in their 70's, middle 60's and I am 60 years old.  Hope you have a good day

Hi Dave. Hope you are well this afternoon.  Exactly how far up north are you?  I am originally from upstate NY. Had a camp up near Cape Vincent/Alexandria Bay. 1000 Islands area. Lived north of Syracuse, NY. I have had the mindset that the docs up north are much more intelligent and caring than the ones down here. Perhaps they are all the same now as I've been here for about 16 years. I'm curious as to how/why you were diagnosed just 4 years ago?

Terri Thank your  for your comments and your thoughts and prayers. My doctor and psychiatrist have been prescribing bipolar and depression medication for about 4 years. Nothing has worked. In fact the side effects have caused some major problems. I question the quality of the medical care I receive. Doctor's visits las about 15 minutes then a snap decision without much research is made concerning a prescription medication. Thant seems dangerous to me. My last visit to the psychiatrist resulted in a 200% increase in my medication. That made me unable to function properly so I took it upon myself to reduce the dosage.  My conclusion is that my doctor and psychiatrist are just "pill pushers'.  Perhaps it's because I live in the extreme north and good doctors are hard to find up here.  Anyway, thoughts and prayers are more powerful than medication so thanks for being my friend. Dave.

Grant, you certianly haven't lost the ability to maintain an idea thread!!  As a quilter I must say that I llike quilts with a popped stitch or two, it's part of their character. I once contempated opening a fabirc shop called "Hanging By A Thread". But life got in the way and now I could no longer handle it. But I still like that line.

Wet or Dry, blankets are a complex thing - a fine line between being comforted or strangled. I know what you mean.

I'm not sure where mt head's at right now, Patch.  I think I'm back in the quilt but I'm missing a stitch or two .I think if anyone else needles: me I'll go over the edge.  I need that stitch in time which saves nine. What is that stitch anyway? I know what I'd like it to be but that's a naughty thought.  When your depressed, it's like wearing a wet blanked.  Maybe I just need to be hung out to dry for a while.    Dave.

I hope it's not politically incorrect to be cute ;-D  although I am sure that is not what you meant to say.  But, indeed, I do bounce, randomly, between heartbreakingly hell-on-earth experiences to the stunningly transcendent and everything in between.  My observations, psychic, social, emotional, physical, are so keen, so intense, that I feel as though I am almost a breed apart, floating above the fray yet still vulnerable to the emotional roller coaster ride that can accompany said observations.  A Pisces chick with an ever-growing maternal instinct for the underdog.  Yup.  That be me.

And, hey, write to me offline if you like: hanahighwayhula@me.com   I trust you (and all of your nearest and dearest) to use it well and wisely.  ;-D

My bestest,

Beth
