VA - PTSD, etc
Posted On 05/04/2010 02:48:46 by gcall55

The VA says that VETS Come First.  Bull.  My PTSD/depression seems to get worse the more I try for a disability pension.  The run around is delay-deny, delay-deny ad nauseum.  Are they hoping I will kill myself so that they won't have to pay any more benefits that I supposedly have already earned.  I'm a 'Nam vet.  We're the ones that got spat upon.  We're the ones that were called baby killers.  No "Thank you for your service".  Nix, nada, nichievo, zero with the edge broken off.  Even the current vets don't seem to get it. I've talked about my experiences as well as those I personally know about and even they respond, "Really?"  Yes, damn it. REALLY!!!

That is soooo true.  My dad a Korean Vet went through absolute hell and that was years, actually a life time ago.  Things just don't seem to change with the VA.  I hope you get what you obviously deserve. PTSD, I am finding, doesn't just "go away".  Best of luck and welcome to NKM2.  Terri

Thanks.

My Dearest Vietnam Veteran,

THANKYOU for your service! THANKYOU for putting your life and sanity on the line for YOUR country. THANKYOU for still being here and being able to continue to speak out about the horrors you must've endured in that faraway place.

i, as a fellow citizen, am SO SORRY that what purports itself to be OUR government, turns a blind eye to your continued suffering, that it DOES DELAY, DENY, and WANT you to DIE, instead of just antiying up what is RIGHTFULLY YOURS in the first place.

YOU among all others should have your rights respected and your human needs cared for BEFORE ANYONE ELSE. You did what you thought was best as an american citizen and went far away to fight a war, which in the end, turned out to mean nothing. It was senseless, it was stupid and it bore no real bearing on our existance as a nation.

BUT HEY! It certainly did serve to line the pockets of big business, to keep the fat cats fat, and to further drive a deep wedge between the entitled and the common.

We, as a country are now no different than victorian England. Theres the entitled classes and then theres the rest of us.

The entitled are working hard to destroy the rest of us. They've taken all our money, and paid themselves for their own mistake, while we, the bewildered, stand by and watch. We lose our savings, our homes and our jobs as they keep manipulating ways to make themselves richer and more entitled.

It must be horrible to have to experience the trauma on a daily basis, and truly aggravating to know you have no recourse to save yourself from the horror.

The more we ask for HELP, the more we get the runaround. SUCH A SHAME! SHAME on us all for not banding together and FORCING OUR GOVERNMENT TO RECOGNIZE, and treat with decency, those who fought, those we lost, i'm not talking about the dead. They're far better off for their service. i'm talking about YOU, and all the others that had to return to a country that could care less about the rights of its citizens, ESPECIALLY those who served and "protected?", who lost their youth to horror, and their dreams to damnation.

FUCKIN VA!
