Multiplicity, anyone?
Posted On 05/03/2010 22:44:44 by Margaret

Hello, people.  I am a highly functional, normal-seeming person with a spouse, a job, talents, smarts, many interests, a sense of humor, and I've got d.i.d. (formerly known as multiple personality disorder).  I'm pretty much in the closet about it, with the exception of a few carefully-chosen people.  I don't want to freak anyone out.

In my case, it's just a nifty survival mechanism that saw me through what would otherwise have been unbearable trauma when I was little.  Sad to say, my parents don't know (about the trauma or the disorder).

I'm curious if there are any fellow/sister multiples here.  If not, let me be a spokesperson and show some small corner of the world that there are lots of us (and not just in my head) (sorry, but it was easy) and we are among you and we're swell people who do all the things that swell people do!

It's me, Margaret, commenting on my own blog (not inappropriate for a multiple person, eh?).  I actually forgot all about this website, unfortunately, until just now when I got an email saying the interactive part was going to be discontinued due to ongoing spam issues.  Too bad!  I'm not sure I want to use the facebook part of this, because it'd be like coming out of the mental illness closet to all my friends, family, coworkers, wouldn't it?  I'm nervous about that.  Danged spammers!
