What I love about Joey
Posted On 10/17/2010 17:40:35 by afischetti

For this blog, I figure I do something extra special.

Joey has done so much for all of us with his organization, so it's time we paid tribute to him by writing about how much his work has inspired us all.

To all who's reading, please write what Joey means to you.

I agree with MO, first impressions seem to last.

Patrick and I met Joey in Illinois at Ebertfest in 2008, when he was there for the movie Canvas. And we say it over and over - - THANK YOU JOEY ! - - you are our NUMBER ONE FRIEND ! After the movie and the Q and A were over he sat on the stage and talked to a group of us about nkm2 like we were old friends - - until it was so late that they had to ask us to leave.

MO and afi - patrick and i agree about Harvey and Tim, Christopher and Tony, and Streve and John . . . . John was at Ebertfest in 2006 for Ripley's Game. he had a very good Q and A -  but Joey puts in overtime - let us all continue communicating and learning and teaching ! ! !   -   MK   -   proud father of patrickthecritic and his twin brother (coming soon to nkm2) - "sean_the_writer".   p.s.  patrick said don't forget Gary and Philip.

First impressions seem to last.

So, for me, Joe will always be that kid sittin across from me on a couch at Tommy Coco's record shop in Irvington, NJ. Crackin us all up with stories of auditions, and the general timbre of the artsy world across the river. i wanna say the Savarinis were there that day as well; having just made the cut into Ringling Bros Clown college.

Joe, to me, is one of those enduring character actors, ranked up there with like Kietel and Roth, Walken and Shaloub. With the same sharp wit and right on delivery of wacky offbeat characterization, like Buschemi or Malkovich. Joes right up there in a very classy league of talent. In my gut, i feel there is an enduring quality to Joe's work, and sincerely hope that some savvy producer would someday pick up on his marketability in a TV format. MO
