What do you do when you can't get any help?
Posted On 09/07/2010 20:38:00 by bitterchick

I tried to get into a clinical study locally for a new treatment for depression.  Believe it or not, I was told I was too depressed for the study.  Although they offered to give me information on cut-rate counseling, when I wrote to ask for it, no one ever got back to me.

You've probably already seen my post about writing to the local bar association.

I recently wrote to a website dedicated to lawyers with depression.  And no, I've not heard back.

I rarely ask for help. Now that I have, I've been rejected from every source.  I have no idea where to go next.

My husband pointed out I shouldn't take it personally, since none of these organizations know me from Eve, but when an organization states its purpose as helping those with depression and then doesn't even respond to a desperate plea for help, it's a little hard *not* to take it personally.

And so, I muddle through.

I think it may be because of the drugs and therapy you presently on..  The trials would change the meds and therapy dramatically and they will not take that chance if you have severe depression that can turn suicidal.. It would be a law suit waiting to happen..EVEN if you sign a waiver..

I too volunteered for a clinical depression trial and was turned down.  I am not sure of the reason why but he felt I didn't fit in.  I ended up in the psych ward two times after that rejection.  So much for not fitting in with clinical trials.  The only thing I can think of is a university or college where students majoring in psychology can do student one-on-one for their classes.

Boyhowdy! Do i ever hear ya, sister!

When all this union/backstabbing crap started happenin to me; i remember walking around with this reiteration in my head "but i'm a nice person..." then i kept hearing all this bullshit rhetoric about how there is help out there- all you have to do is swallow your pride and ask- thus surrepticiously tearing me down for my "weakness" and forcing further into the rut of docile subservience-so ask i did- i asked - and asked-and over and over all i've been given is a gazillion reasons why i can't be helped- C"mon fukkers! Y'know!? i may very well be depressed-very, very depressed- but i'm not stupid! i can see when i'm getting smoke blown up ma butt; i can see i'm just bein recorded as some federal statistic; to get more money from the gov't for supposedly "Helping" me when ya don't- the world (and especially the "Social Services System" are all bein run by folks too lazy to just do their damn jobs!

Its just easier for em' ta pass ya off and off and off again- so they don't have to perform the service they are there for.

Everywhere you look now, the media's yammering about all this different help thats "out there"- yet its as illusive as the tittie bar conundrum- "you're gonna get screwed-But ya ain't gonna get laid!"

And what really hurts the most and really galls My soul- is that for just us here ranting about it- THERE'S ABOUT TEN MILLION MORE JUST LIKE US.

And So It Goes- (to paraphrase) We all try to muddle thru.
