Another Day another BULLY
Posted On 08/23/2010 09:53:48 by STAGEPROMO

i was disheartened this AM to awake to the news that a writer for VQR- was bullied to the point of suicide. i caught it on NBC's Today show. They showed where this poor guy had made seventeen calls to HR in just the week previous to giving up. His "boss" had harangued this poor guy from day one- and the real shame was in the fact that the "boss" was obviously twenty years junior to the writer. This guys fellow coworkers knew what was going on, but instead of staging a revolt: they just kinda hoped everything would iron itself out. IT DON'T WORK THAT WAY. NOW THAT BULLY IS GONNA SET HIS SITES ON SOMEONE NEW.

i don't understand what the thinking is here. Do people just believe that Bullies grow up to be right thinking, upstanding citizens?! The thing that pissed me off more was NBC's "interview" with some hottie "employment specialist"- this little chickie poo, who couldn't've been more'n thirty herself made some vacuous reference to the "Healthy Workplace Act" which is now valiantly trying to be pushed thru Congress. Then, halfway thru her three minute segment she obviously lost all train of thought. Why couldn't NBC put Gary Namie on instead? He's an expert in the field, and has made it his lifeswork about hipping the public at large to the dangers (as well as, financial and health related) of this "phenomena" in the workplace. For more info- go to WBI.org

My professional life and reputation was completely destroyed by someone like this, and, as is often the case, the rest of the workplace fell in and assisted in my systematic destruction. So scared they were that she'd turn her sights on them.  "First they came for the merchants; then they came for the Jews- next thing you know they'll be coming for you!"- i kept saying this as it was unfolding around me, but my "brothers and sisters" were so cowed down and fearful of the same rath-that they just stood by and let it happen. Only a couple of folks actually stood up and tried to speak out about what was going on- for i had already withdrawn into what was already my descent into this latest bout of chronic depression. i was already damaged enuf by the previous six years with Psychobunky and his chaos in mine and my families life- and Dragonlady Laura saw that as the prime opportunity to attack me- me- who had unwillingly and unwittingly nominated her to her position of power.

i found out last year that several of my brothers and sisters quit the union because of all this that happened to me, and what i uncovered as per their fiscal malfeasance, as well as a federal investigation and federal charges regarding said malfeasance; has only served to do one thing. Put more of my brothers and sisters out of work and probably, no doubt experiencing the same slanderous crap i've had to endure these past six years.

IS THERE ANY TRUE VINDICATION IN THAT? Did lifelong friendships and even marital bonds need to be senselessly torn asunder all because some punkin assed bitch was intimidated by me? Shes hoisted her own petard- let the government deal with it. YEAH, RIGHT!

Does this ceaseless slandering of myself and now other innocents and violations of federal law need to continue? It will- as long as we all keep our heads down and don't stand up for ALL OF OUR RIGHTS.

HAS OUR GOVERNMENT DONE ANY KIND OF STUDIES AS TO HOW MANY FOLKS END UP SELF ANNIHILATING BECAUSE OF WORKPLACE BULLYING? HELL NO! OUR GOVERNMENT IS TOO BUSY TRYING TO MAKE THE PRESIDENT INTO SOMETHING HES NOT- AND BITCHING ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY THEY'RE GONNA LOSE OUTA THEiR POCKETS IF WE START TAXING THE LIVIN PISS OUTA THE RICH.

Its bad enuf that our country has dissociated to the point of mass confusion, mass unemployment and mass homelessness, that we as a whole, can be influenced by nothing more that some shit on twitter. Do i care what religion the president is?! NO! i could care less if he wants to come to work as a big pink bunny rabbit in a tu-tu. Just do your frikken jobs, big government and quit with the bullshit!

Workplace Drama needs to be dispensed with in the workplace. We had a unique way of dispensing with it at my last theatre. My production super, who was a former Air Commando, called me into the office one day and said "Heres forty dollars-go to Target and get as many festive gift bags as we have employees on site" Then he called us all out on stage.

"Seems we got alotta drama and opinions flyin around here- and i am not going to tolerate it. If you feel you have such a problem with me, or anybody else here-you can dang well git out. We're paying you more'n a fair hourly wage to work. WORK. And your personal opinion means about as much to me and the management as that hole at the bottom of yer tailbones. Eveybodies got one, but we don't want to see em here. "

"If ya'll have problems, or opinions, or DRAMMMA- put em in these bags and hangem outside on the gate. Nobodies gonna steal them cause they ain't worth nothin. Your personal opinions or drama don't get that light hung, or that case pushed across the floor- and neither does yer asshole." Thankyou Monte for putting WORK back in the workplace- and finding one very good way of dealing with bullshit.

Yeah, Tis; Its like finding out your platoon ain't gotcher back. Totally disheartened me about society in general; and it seems its gonna get worse before it gets better.

Do these HR numnutz not draw a corelation to like the shootings at the Budwieser plant a short while back? And what about "going Postal"?

Humanity can only be pushed to the limits of its ability to cope- i fear the dark days of "Les Miz" are almost upon us.

As fer me; i found that working with the dead has some distinct advantages- none of those nasty back wound thingy's.

AND YEAH, PLEASE: CHECK OUT GARY NAMIE AND THE "HEALTHY WORKPLACE ACT" IF YOU CAN. BELIEVE ME, WE'RE NOT THE ONLY ONES.

Mo, It was a workplace bully who pushed me over my "I can deal with this line." Having grown up under the now outdated belief that hard work is rewarded and when you're loyal to the company, the company is loyal to you, it was devastating to me to be "set-up" and then stabbed in the back. And like all good HR personnel, all they could do was stammer a little when they talked the corporate line.

I don't watch the news so I don't know anything about the victim you refer to, but I know the assassins. Keep rantin'

patchwork.
