I have a blog I have to finish... but came across this quote and wanted to share it:

'Normal' is a useful word for medicine and psychology, but otherwise it is too abstract. When we decide what's 'normal' and what's 'not normal', it could be very dangerous."

Let me just add.... I think it's too broad even for medicine and psychology.  If not... we're all insane.  I did like the Mad Hatter best...

I just thought back to an earlier blog I wrote... It still comes down to we need to determine what normal means to us... For each of us it will be different.  We'll all have some Mad Hatter moments.  At the end of the day we are all faced with how we handle it.

JandM - I also have, and will continue to have, blogs that need editing and blogs that eventually need to be finished ! I took a free NAMI class in downtown Fort Worth in the fall of 2004. The term "NORMAL" was referred to frequently ! 


As far as the quote goes - " When we decide what's 'normal' and what's 'not normal', it could be very dangerous." - we also need to decide who " we " are and what kind of danger. Right now I have to go deal with "normal" people out in the general public. I will use my wit, as I do daily, to try and make them smile. Even "normal" people deserve to have an occasional smile. Sometimes even that is dangerous. Hopefully I will be able to add to, and/or edit, this comment. (probably by copying and pasting and deleting) I am slowly learning. HEY MO - "Am I right, or am I right, or am I right?"  What movie?


I googled "Alexandre" (my middle name - spelled differently). He had the whole first page. Je parle "solamente poquito" francais!   MK
