I am interested in all forms of writing to be honest. I don't discriminate. I write poetry, stage-plays, short stories, essays, newsletters, articles, and you name it as long as it includeds a pen & paper or a word processor. This means I also enjoy reading, which thankfully college didn't completely ruin for me. For overwhelming joy, I love doing arts and crafts with my daughter. Now that she's 7 I have come to love this hobby more than any other. We have gone from fingerpainting and Magna Doodle to Decoupage and detailed pumpkin carving.

Gone With the Wind, The Labrinth, anything Tim Burton, all the Godfather Movies, Patch Adams, V for Vendetta, All the Kill Bill movies,The Crow, UP, Iron Jawed Maidens, Cry Baby, etc.

The White Stripes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Soul Coughing, Blue October, Fiest, George Gershwin, The Andrew's Sisters, Elvis, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, The REHAB Song, Billie Holiday, etc.

Hilbilly Gothic, The Glass Castle, Lit from Within, The Woman Warrior, The Trial, Pamela or Pamela:The Virtue Rewarded, He's Just Not That Into You, A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier, Mortified, Zelda Fitzgerald: A Biography, Flappers, etc.

My memories from my childhood almost mimik a series of short stories, which was probably why I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder when I was 10 years old. The day after I was diagnosed and began taking medication, I remember my mother telling me before school "Don't tell anyone". It was then I think I made it my life's mission to be 'The Poster Girl for ADD". I wanted to be the success story so that way I could "tell people". What turned into a full blown obsession with achievement was what led me to being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder at 17. During a pretty heavy mental break, I became pregnant at 19 and have been fighting to be a healthy and loving single mother ever since. I put myself through college and recently graduated with my Bachelors in English and Professional Writing. I still play BattleShip with my own mind everyday. I work hard to always be conscious and aware that what makes me different and sets me apart is also the very thing that makes me EXCEPTIONAL and OUTSTANDING.
